How to Use This Palworld Breeding Calculator
Finding a breeding combo takes one click in the target dropdown.

Example Calculation
Breeding a Vanwyrm (combi-power rank 36) with a Penking (rank 28) gives child rank floor((36 + 28 + 1) ÷ 2) = 32. Looking up rank 32 in the Pal table returns Surfent. Try a different parent pair — say Mossanda (rank 50) and Penking (rank 28) — and the calculator returns floor((50 + 28 + 1) ÷ 2) = 39, which produces a Tombat.
How This Palworld Breeding Calculator Works
Every Pal in Palworld has a hidden numeric value called Combi Power (sometimes called BreedPower). When you breed two parents, the game averages their Combi Power values, rounds the result, and finds the Pal whose Combi Power is closest to that average. That Pal is the child you'll get from the egg.
The exact formula is:
child_rank = floor((parent1_rank + parent2_rank + 1) / 2)
The game then finds the Pal with the closest Combi Power to that result. If two Pals are equidistant, the lower-numbered one wins. Unique recipes override this formula — there are around two dozen special parent combinations (such as Frostallion + Helzephyr) that always produce a specific rare child regardless of the math.
Some other things to keep in mind: the parents must be of opposite genders (one male, one female), Pals don't pass on their special variants automatically (you generally need a Lucky or boss-variant parent for that), and inherited passive skills depend on the parents' passives — the breeding calculator focuses on which Pal will hatch, not on which passives it will have.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does parent order matter when breeding?
No. The breeding formula adds the two parents' Combi Power values, so Pal A + Pal B and Pal B + Pal A always produce the same child. Gender does matter though — you need one male and one female.
What are unique breeding recipes?
Unique recipes are special parent combinations that always produce a specific child regardless of the Combi Power formula. They're how you get most of the rare and "Noct" / fusion variants such as Jormuntide Ignis or Frostallion Noct. The calculator highlights the result with a "Special Recipe" badge whenever your selection triggers one.
Can I pass passive skills to the child?
Yes — children can inherit up to four passive skills from their parents, with each passive having an independent chance of being passed down. To stack good passives, breed parents that already have them and re-breed the offspring.
How long does an egg take to hatch?
Egg hatching time depends on the egg's size: small eggs take roughly 30 minutes of in-game time, while huge eggs can take many hours. Building an Incubator and placing it in a temperature-appropriate spot speeds up the process.
What if I don't have all the listed Pals yet?
The calculator simulates the result based on Combi Power, so you can plan future breeding before you actually catch the parent Pals. Use it as a roadmap — find the breeding chain that will eventually give you the rare Pal you want.
Why do I get the same child from very different parents?
Because the formula is based on averaging two numbers, many different parent combinations average out to the same Combi Power. Use the Random Pair button or experiment in the calculator to find the easiest pair you can actually obtain.
